Pump Priming Projects

 


One of the key features of the original bid to set up the CIHR was the introduction of small project or “pump priming” grants, to assist in the development of NMAHP research capability and capacity. We have provided £360,000 for 23 pump priming studies, all of which involved bringing practitioners and academic researchers together to tackle questions which were of clinical importance and driven by policy.

This call was designed to promote the research of the NMAHP professions using the themes of the CIHR. In each case applicants were encouraged to submit projects which were patient focused, were interdisciplinary and which drew together academics and practitioners
