About Us
The Collaboration
There is a thriving research culture in the NHS and Higher Education Institutions in the South East of Scotland and the CIHR seeks to consolidate, integrate and build on this.
The consortium consists of three HEIs in Edinburgh (Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Edinburgh) and the NHS in the South East of Scotland (NHS Lothian, NHS Borders and NHS Lanarkshire).
Collaborative partners and funders
The proposal aims to increase the research base for NMAHP practice by the established CIHR and through this:

Improve the infrastructure of nursing, midwifery and allied health professions research across the three HEIs in Edinburgh, and to enhance its capability and capacity in conjunction with the NHS in Lothian, Borders and Lanarkshire.

Facilitate and carry out research projects with relevance to Scottish priorities in health care, SEHD, CSO Research Strategy (2003) grouped under three programmes of research, namely:
