Welcome to the Centre for Integrated Healthcare Research (CIHR)

We are one of three research consortia set up in Scotland in 2004/2005 to develop research capacity in Nursing, Midwifery and the Allied Health Professions.

The CIHR involves a collaboration between three higher education institutions in Edinburgh, Queen Margaret University, The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier University and three NHS organisations NHS Lothian, Border and Lanarkshire. We also collaborate with a wide range of other institutions in the UK and internationally.

The CIHR has three programmes of research

In addition the CIHR is focused on research related to the fields of mental health, public health and intervention.

The directors of the programmes of research are based in the higher education institutions and represent a broad range of interests of relevance to healthcare research.

We are very keen to work with practitioners, researchers and service users in the field of healthcare research. If you would like to contact us to ask for materials and/or be put on our data base please do so here.
